Thursday, May 7th - Update

Yesterday I was allowed to go visit mom for a few hours which were amazing. We had a full team doctor meeting with mom to discuss the plan of care. 

This morning the nurse called. Mom is stable but had lots of bleeding from the chest tubes overnight. She was given blood products and went for a CT scan which shows blood collection in the plural space. Blood pressure is stable and she is still on the ventilator. Dr. Ardehali is taking her back into the OR at 1 pm for another chest surgery on the left side to open up and clean out the blood / blood clots.

- 6:13 pm update -

Nurse said mom did very well. Cleaned out a clot from the left lung. No obvious areas of bleeding. Left lung looked better. They will keep her on the ventilator overnight. That's all we know for now.
