Saturday, June 27th - Update

Mom update! Mom is doing well and bp is stable. They did a bronchoscopy yesterday and found lots of thick secretions in the lungs. The initial cultures from the sample show pneumonia. They have started her on more antibiotics in addition to the one she was already on. There was an incident Thursday’s night when her blood pressure dropped and she became non responsive. They took her off the ventilator and brought her blood pressure back up. They still are unsure what caused it. She thankfully doesn’t remember anything up until Thursday morning. Yesterday afternoon they trialed her on the high flow for a bit and she slept on the ventilator. Today she is still pretty sleepy and weak. We are hoping she can get a short walk in. Her oxygen saturation is stable.
