Be Kind And Smile Often Karine UCLA Lung Transplant

Friday mom update!

Pain management is the priority today. Yesterday’s walk was pretty tough but we got to FaceTime and cheer her on! Today she will be walking again and they are looking to remove the iv line in her leg that hinders her mobility. Blood pressure is looking good and they are lowering those medications slowly. Heart is good as well. She still has a lot of swelling and fluid retention, they started her on a diuretic to help but movement is the best way to lessen it. Gtube is working great and they removed the ngtube from her nose so her face is clear and as beautiful as ever. Craig showered her with compliments 🥰 The chest tubes are still in as they are monitoring a “leak” they noticed in X-ray. She still has areas of the lungs that are partially collapsed and not fully expanding. That should slowly resolve as she breathes deeper. She is back to pressure support and initialing her own breathes which takes a lot of work for her. But she is doing great!! Happy day indeed.
