Be Kind And Smile Often Karine UCLA Lung Transplant

Saturday mom update! She slept well through the night. They switched her to a different pain medication last night to help with some nerve pain and that seemed to help. Blood pressure is stable after being off medication since 1 pm yesterday. Heart is stable as well. She is able to tolerate sitting up in the chair more and they are looking to lower her pressure support settings again (to 10/15 from 15/15). She was happy to get the right chest tube out yesterday and they will look at taking the left one out in a few days. She has some GI issue yesterday but no blockage or issues with the gtube. We keep requesting them to order the dairy free feed to see if that helps but everyone is so busy it is hard to get in touch with the different teams. She is getting more mobility in her arms and legs, still struggling with back pain and chest pain but hopefully the pain management today will stay in front of it. Still no word on what the the fluid in her lungs cultured but they haven’t changed her antibiotics yet so that’s a good sign. Mom did two long walks today and the nurses were very excited that she only needed one break during her second one! Mary Kate & Ashley are doing well.
