Tuesday, March 31st - Update

Karine update!

She had a good night but her blood pressure dropped so she is back on medication. They lowered her ventilator settings but that caused a lot of anxiety and emotions. She wasn’t able to finish her walk this morning. Her nurse has been good about reassuring her but I think today will be about being calm and praying for ease and peace for mom. Left lung is looking better, minimal drainage and X-ray shows improvement. They will monitor this everyday. Less tubes means less risk of infection. 

Talked to the dietician who explained that they are having trouble getting a dairy free formula (they actually have been talking to Kate Farms which is the brand we like but it’s really slow to get the ordered for the hospital) and so mom is on the best version they can offer. We have the option to supply our own if we want but that is costly and a higher risk of bringing germs in. She will go talk to mom about this and see if the ID doctors can give her a probiotic to help her stomach.
