Saturday, April 4th - Update

Mom had a good night, still woken up at 4 am for X-ray and blood sugar test but then was allowed to sleep until 8! 

Ct scan showed thickening of the plural space (potentially scar tissue) and still some air which indicates a small pneumothorax. They are trouble shooting the chest tube in the left lung to see how to best remove the air. 

Bronchoscopy today at 2 to get a new sample to culture. Last weeks sample cultured aspergillosis (fungal) and so they want to see if it has resolved. If not they will continue the anti fungal mess. 

Heart rate and BP are stable. Mom is still having discomfort and tightness in her chest which makes breathing difficult but is holding well on her current settings. They will see if they can lower them slowly over the next few days.
