Friday, April 24th - Update

Happy Friday! X-ray showed no change this morning so they removed her left chest tube. She is officially tube free! She did wake up pretty early but was able to go back to sleep. The doctors rounded early and stopped by her room to say hi. The nurse told me they were really happy with her progress. 

They will also be having her on the ventilator less at night and move to have her do longer sprints on the high flow trach. Still walking on the ventilator. Antibiotics ended today and they think that is what has been giving her gi issues so hopefully that resolved today as well. 

She still has really bad back pain as well as anxiety but is less sleepy today. Now that the tubes are out she will be able to move around a bit more and get some relief. It’s so nice to see her being able to turn to her side and sit up more!
