Thursday, April 23rd - Update

Mom had a GREAT night and slept solid from 9 pm to 6 am. Think that was the first full night of sleep since the surgery 6 weeks ago!

They removed the right chest tube yesterday and said they saw improvement. It’s around 80% healed was the estimate. Mom said that it feels better on the right side. Left chest tube was put to water seal last night and X-ray showed no change so they clamped it today. If tomorrow mornings X-ray shows no change they will pull it out tomorrow. 

Today she will walk on the ventilator and rest on the high flow trach collar same as before. She has 3 walks scheduled today. They have stoped the blood pressure medication since that has been in normal range for a few days now. They are also looking to lower her pain medication from every 6 to 8 hours but will see how that goes today.
