Wednesday, June 15th - Update

Mom update!

It’s been a pretty amazing week for mom. She has been weened off the ventilator (an hour less every day) and is trialing 24 hours with no ventilator. She is currently on the high flow trach collar at 15 Ls. 

She is showing some symptoms (headache, muscle weakness, tiredness and shaking) that have been getting worse but the team is monitoring closely. These symptoms can be Co2 related, immunosuppressant medication related, fatigue from working out more or a combination of all three. However the progress she has been making is really amazing. The doctors have told me multiple time’s that she has exceeded expectations in her recovery. The tentative plan if things keep positively progressing is to have mom come home or a rehab facility at the end of the month. It’s great to have a goal to push to!! :) 

Mom didn’t sleep really great last night but her oxygen saturation is stable now. They will continue the trial until tomorrow.
