Saturday, April 11th - Update

Mom’s heart went into a fib this morning and so they had to perform a heart rhythm conversion bedside to get her stable. It was fast and the sedation medication gave mom a nice morning nap. Heart is stable now. Dr. Ardehali wants to perform a bronchoscopy and an thoracentesis today but due to scheduling it will probably happen tomorrow. If they need to they will also place another chest tube. Ct scan showed no improvement on the air / pneumothorax. 

Her oxygenation is great though and she did all day yesterday at 8/5. She is back to 9/5 for now and getting ready for her first walk. 

Last weeks bronchoscopy sample cultured nothing so moms lungs are infection free! During the next bronchoscopy they will take another sample.
